Reporting to the Estimating Manager, this Estimator will play a crucial role in the pre-construction and procurement phase of construction projects. The Estimator will be responsible for a wide range of tasks,
including but not limited to:

  • Project Assessment: Evaluate project plans, specifications, and requirements to gain a

  • comprehensive understanding of the scope of work.

  • Quantity Take-offs: Conduct thorough quantity take-offs for materials, labor, and equipment requirements.

  • Cost Estimation: Prepare detailed and precise cost estimates, ensuring they align with industry standards and are competitive in the market.

  • Vendor and Subcontractor Relations: Collaborate with vendors, subcontractors, and suppliers to obtain accurate quotes and pricing for project components.

  • Change Order Management: Work closely with project management to generate change orders when required, keeping projects on track and within budget.

  • Budgeting and Cost Control: Assist in the development and maintenance of project budgets, providing critical cost control support throughout project execution.

  • Client Engagement: Communicate with clients to explain cost estimates, address inquiries, and provide transparency regarding project costs.

  • Competitive Analysis: Stay updated on industry pricing trends, subcontractor capabilities, and material costs to ensure Hebster Construction competitiveness in the market.

  • Collaboration: Foster effective collaboration with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to guarantee project success.


Ideal Candidate:
To be successful in this role, candidates should possess the following qualifications:

  • A degree or diploma in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.

  • 3 years experience estimating civil road construction projects, with an understanding of residential, ICI, and municipal projects.

  • Estimating experience in site grading, underground site servicing and road works.

  • Proficiency in estimating software and tools.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

  • Ability to accurately interpret drawings and project requirements.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
